Lack oof empathy and professionalism. I got off work early, drove over an hour for an appointment, called to say I would be late due to construction work near the facility, and was told to reschedule once I arrived 13 minutes late. I asked if there were any available slots and was told to return a week later.

My husband was fine, then he wasn't. He came home from work with a high fever, body shaking chills and drenching sweats. After visits to the PCP and the ER, we were referred to Atlanta ID Group. My husband was on day 9 of absolute misery and we were terrified. I called the Atlanta ID Group and the front desk staff, Lucy and Bridgett, were WONDERFUL. So patient and understanding as to our fears and frustration. Bridget was able to get us an appointment the next day. We arrived with my husband in terrible shape - they allowed him to go to a room to lay down until his appointment. Dr. Hengel was perfect! He listened intently and asked NUMEROUS questions all while typing his 'patient narrative'. For the first time in almost 2 weeks, I felt like we were in the right place and would receive answers. He ordered a TON of blood work but went ahead and prescribed antibiotics for what he suspected was happening. Dr. Hengel called us (!!!) the next day to check on my husband. Seriously! How great is that? Thankfully, my husband has improved DAILY since starting those meds and we are so thankful. We had a follow-up visit today and are feeling very encouraged that we are on the right path to healing. Dr. Hengel is professional, thorough and genuinely concerned. His staff, not only Lucy and Bridget, but the ENTIRE STAFF, showed empathy, concern and care beyond measure. I am so grateful to all of them.
