Love this place .....everyone is coming over and enjoying the social life and talking ....wow
like
We went yesterday a group of 5. We ordered a bottle of wine and 4 beers. Before the order arrived, a few plates of nuts and cheese came, and honestly the quantity was massive and I asked the waiter why all of this (especially we didn't order it) he said it comes with drinks. When we asked for the bill, it was 420 Turkish L and when I questioned it they started avoiding me, no eye contact and said these are the normal charges, and when I asked them why didn't you ask us first if we want all that their response was in Turkish ( I don't speak the language) and when I found someone to translate he told me, simply because you are foreigners. It was pure rip off. When you think you want to go a gay place to feel safe and accepted, you are actually worse off. The place is dated with terrible music and the clientele is 50 of age. I wanted to rate 3 stars but after what they did its -1star. Avoid if you are non Turkish.
Typical and seems me authentic Turkish gay bar...people mostly drink beer, Raki or beverages... nuts or small dishes food (starters) available ... mostly bearded or moustache Turkish bellied bears and daddies with their admirers ...age range from 35 to 70 ... they play life music with Turkish songs... after 11pm they start to celebrate and dance very Turkish style...nice to see! Not that easy making contacts there...English knowledge is very basic...older people mostly just speak Turkish...and usually they are all arranged in groups sitting at tables... It is more a kind of Turkish gay men society who knows each since years... of course, always some foreigners as well... Lavatories and smoker area is very very basic... should be renovated once... Waiters are very friendly and correct with their guests but as well just basically English... They offer you beer and nuts or pistachio...just notice that the nuts are not free 1 beer 14 Tl and nuts or pistachio 14 Tl.. all in all very average prices You should see this bar may the most authentic Turkish gay bar I ever seen with very typical Turkish or Anatolian or Kurdish beautiful men...but it isn't trendy for youngsters.. Crowded Friday and Saturday 9.30 pm - 2 am .... but sometimes I could find there very nice people during the week 10.30 pm - 1-2 am as well.
This is the only place I feel good in Istanbul.. gay friendly.. but careful there
fabulous Kurdish music live and recorded to a wildly supportive audience of locals, younger men and devoted tourists like me... beer and fabulous times ( )
Awesome pub for those of us who are non-scene and appreciate a cheap drink. It definitely provides a place for regular, everyday, drama-free gatherings of gay men. There was also some awesome live music being performed! One thing, as a non-Turk I felt a little out of place but everyone was nice and nobody said anything negative.
Please be aware of being ripped off. They give you a table, bring nibbles to you without you asking for it and at the end charge you for every single item. If you are not regular they invent the prices to get as much money as possible from you. Apart from that it's just a dated old men's hungout. Will never come back and never reccomere it. Typical opportunists you would have expected better treatment of their gay community. Discrase!!!!
Crowd are bears, the place is outdated, very annoying and loud live performance on Friday night. I walked in with friends at around 21:00 the place was mostly empty wanted to set on one of the table but they said all are reserved, they gave us a table next to the door and took our order, they gave all the bar maza and drinks but the surprise came with the bill, it was a rip off, when they realized that we were tourist, they decided to rip us off, never again.
