Awful service and rude staff. Entered the cafe for the first ever time looking to buy two slices of cake for takeaway. Asked for two slices to be be bluntly told “I can’t sell you that”. After asking “why, it’s right there on the counter with a price and all sliced up?” Same blunt rude response. I said okay but why is it there with all the other cakes for sale. Reply “it only got delivered an hour ago and we have to have it sat for three hours before we sell it”. Weird Covid rule but why have it on the counter placed as the first thing you see when walking in. I went elsewhere and won’t be going back there for anymore rude blunt service.

One of my favourite places for breakfast/brunch. Brilliant menu; classics (full English), modern breakfasts and a make your own sandwich which never disappoints. Been with my girlfriend a lot and we both love it, I've even been in on my own for cake and tea before! Would thoroughly recommend it, I usually get the Fat Birds Breakfast but do sometimes push the boat out! They also have a delightful selection of cakes to eat in or take away - I'm a fan!
Went with my mate for some food. It's a clean place to go in nice clean location but service is not good, order was not taken properly and served the food was not even order for!! when they served food the cutlery was bent. Asked if they do sugarfree syrup coffee, staff thought it's a joke and laughed on asking for sugarfree syrup in coffee. Would've appreciated if the answer would have been they don't have any! And just show courtesy of good customer service. Advise to little bit more professional and laugh with customer with smile not sarcastically.
The best place for brunch / lunch in town? Arguably so. The place looks and feels cosy, and easily gets busy at peak hours. The food was very good, especially the burger. Other options looked delicious as well, and the menu is quite extensive, but definitely not as expensive. You get a lot for what you order, whether it be quantity or quality. The service was good and efficient, perhaps a bit long, but understandable as it can get busy. Would definitely recommend a stop by!
19th Sept 2019: I went in for breakfast today and was told that they no longer take food orders at the table, you have to come to the till to place your order. I also noticed a reduction in staff since my last visit. Presumably the order placing at the till is because they have shed staff to save on wages. They used to get slammed in the first 60 minutes when they opened, but it was barely a trickle today. Note to owners: if you screw with a winning formula just to make an extra buck, it may not be long before you are not making anything at all. Try Savi's in Regent Street who open an hour earlier and are better value.
