I was told that I had to change my driving license to Portuguese even though I'm from EU country. Turns out there was no need to do that! Nevertheless, waited for my Portuguese driving license for more than two years and received it with an error. Later I ordered the new ones and I've been waiting again for almost two years... I am aware of what is happening in the world but no one is replying to my emails since October so I could simply pay for my driving license to be sent via CCT.

Opening times 9-16, this line was already at 8.30. They do not answer the phone, you have to deal with your problems eye to eye. If you Want to be in the beginning of the line come at least at 7.00
Appalling. They give zero information online for opening times, google says it’s open, so I went. There is simply a not saying it’s closed. Zero info from what to do now. Absolutely appalling.
A bit crowded at all times. The lady who speak english at the entrance had a great way of dealing people. It took almost 6 months for my license to arrive.
Need to exchange UK licence for Portuguese. Don't pick up the phone. Tried 2 different email addresses but no reply. In desperation drove to Faro. Despite appointment system dozens of people packed on to pavement outside so no social distancing. Goodness knows how far behind they were, it was worse than the ticket system. Told can't make an appointment at the offices. You have to telephone or email!!!!!!!
Agree with other posts, nobody answers phones and my application for changing Uk licence to Portuguese has been with them for 2 months now.
Much improved experience at the IMT office in Faro today. The receptionist ensures that everyone has the right ticket. The waiting time was much reduced. Only one person is allowed to be at the desk when it's their turn and the staff now also speak English. Although the queue before 9am was quite long, I was finished by 9:45am. After having a coffee nearby I noticed that there was practically no queue at 10am.
went there yesterday afternoon and was pleasantly surprised. After all the horror stories about lines and angry people, I was given a ticket by a very friendly man and helped within the hour by nice and efficient ladies. A very good experience changing my license to a Portuguese one and pretty quick! thanks
