Really beautiful short hike full of moss and rocky outcrops, plus interesting historical tidbits. But watch out - the Glen loop feeds into a much longer red trail which takes you to the Bible camp and disc golf course if you're not careful. When you get to the pond and open grass and two bridges look back for yellow blazes along a trail you haven't taken yet to avoid the red fitness trail.

This was the spot of George Washington's first military engagement. In 1754 he led a part of 40 Virginians and Native scouts and ambushed a French party that was camping at the bottom of the gorge, killing ten and taking the rest prisoner. There was a huge controversy over what happened and if the French were there to attack or as a diplomatic mission. Regardless, the events would lead to the unofficial start of the Seven Years or French and Indian War that would consume the continent - and world. Today this place is beautifully preserved as it would have looked back in 1754. It's a gorgeous pathway through the woods where you can literally feel the history of the place!

A must-see after visiting Fort Necessity National Battlefield and Braddock's Grave. A solemn piece of world history.

Came up here with my friends George, and Tanacharison, just to see if some French dudes needed help with camp, when all of a sudden... didn't mean to start a world war.
