As a big fan of Rick Stein and having visited his fish and chip shop in Padstow I was very excited to learn there was a Rick Steins in Falmouth. It was a bit confusing at first as they have lovely Hugh tables outside but there is no table service. This meant a lot of up and down and back and fourth from the table as you have to go round to the front take away part to order and wait for your food. The fish and chips was delicious however the actual restaurant was not as nice as we thought. The sign has two lights out at the front so doesn’t give the greatest impression but I would recommend a take away from here!

Husband loved the mussels starter but we were disappointed by the fish and chips. Fish was nice but chips average and didn't like the tartar sauce. Price was fine though and location. Nice decor too.

Should be renamed Rick Stein Fish & Chips and Burger Bar. Flag ship lobster main dish was unavailable on our visit. Wouldn’t choose to do a 2 hour round trip for what is essentially a basic generic menu otherwise. Pretty sure Rick Stein didn’t make his name selling burgers... :(

Food and service were amazing! Came for a late lunch with my family and we were seated and served immediately with the food coming very fast. I ordered lobster and the waitress told me that because it was a small lobster, they were going to give me more which I felt was going the extra mile for good service. All of the table loved their food and when we went to pay my grandparents were going to buy a magnet which we were told to have on the house. The waiter then chatted and gave us some recommendations of places to go in Falmouth. Recommend anyone visiting Falmouth to come here, 10/10!

I've eaten from the take away quite a few times and although pricey, I have always thought it decent. This was my first time dining in and on the day we came, they had no Mussels or Lobster (Only selling fresh seafood means this is a risk the diner has to accept) but what disappointed me was the lack of any other seafood offerings other than the Fish and Chips (same as in the takeaway but 14 to have in the restaurant). This place is called 'Rick Stein Fish', it's in Cornwall and the only fish on the menu is deep fried in batter. As someone who grew up in a Cornish fishing town, I thought it was laughable. The staff however were very pleasant, the venue had been prepared for Covid very well and we forunately saved money on the 'Eat out to help out' incentive but if you're looking for showcased seafood, Falmouth has so much more on offer and if you're looking for Fish and Chips, just get takeout and sit down on the Quay!
