The boat lift is an amazing feat of engineering it takes very little power to operate the wheel. To go up on the wheel is fabulous you do not get the impression that you are high. There is more to do than just the wheel you can walk along the canal side, a nice cafeteria, shop and water activities.

Such a marvel of engineering. Simple scientific principles put into action. The thing is huge and dominates the area. Good surrounding facilities, places to walk and ride bikes. You can bring your own or hire one from the visitors center. There is a nice cafe, reasonably priced with a good range of items. There is also a gift shop but the range isn't as good as some other gift shops. Still, reasonably priced on the whole. Tickets to go on the boat tour are around 13 per adult for the long tour up the canal. It takes about an hour but you're probably only on the move for about half that. The views from the top of the wheel are incredible but for the best views of the wheel itself I recommend sitting on the left of the boat if possible.

Great walk through wooded area on good paths. Went to Fort which was great to see. Information posts available at different sites. Well worth a visit.

Would like to give it 5 stars but I was left wanting something more but not sure what. Possibly a longer trip? Fantastic bit of engineering. Loved it all but just wished it had lasted longer.

Awesome piece of technology, good walking routes round about. Plenty of shops and stuff close by. Lots of space for parking.
