Avoid this company like the plague. I don't make a habit of giving bad reviews but Mr Tait was so bad to deal with I feel I should warn you. Several phones calls, several emails. No reply. Took 3 months to send a written offer on the house I was buying. Thank goodness for the lovely receptionist/secretary who passed me onto Eileen who was much better. Moving house is stressful enough, I had a heavily pregnant wife and needed things to be much smoother than they were. They are cheap for a reason. Bite off more than they can chew. Pay the extra 200-300 for someone better when moving house. You won't regret it.

I don't think i was ever a customer, even after 6 months. I was assigned Mr Tait, easy to talk to on the 1 time i eventually got him. Maybe my business was too small (house sale and confirmation) my experience would be avoid at all costs, they're either understaffed or Mr Tait is incompetant, there were others who would also fail to return calls or in the face of it seemly do nothing (at least for me). I won't name her as it's not her name on the business. Consider this they arrange a telephone meeting with me at 10am 8/12/20, I call at 9:58 'Mr Tait is talking to someone else I'll have him call back' 9th of December, still no call. Tait MacLeod, don't call me, don't send a bill. You're fired and I'm angry you've wasted 6 months and hopefully i've not lost the offer on the house, or you WILL here from me. You don't deserve the 1 star needed to allow this review.
Tait Macleod was commissioned to carry out a transfer of titles for which I was told would only take a 3-4 weeks by Fraser (younger one). As communicated to Fraser this was ideal given the time critical factor i faced. 5 weeks had passed so I decided to prompt them for a status update. To my disbelief I was told that they hadn't even started the process due to having a backlog which is understandable given the current climate. I was then told that Fraser would start the process on the Monday the following week. 9 weeks had elapsed in total so I decided to follow up and again to my amazement the paperwork still hadn't been submitted. I was then given a similar excuse to the first. At this point I then advised them to have my paperwork ready for collection that afternoon. When I visited the premises to collect my paperwork I immediately noticed my envelope containing my titles deeds and supporting paperwork with my full name on show for everyone to see. I then asked to collect my paperwork to which I was given the envelope described in the above without any challenge for identification. I then asked for an explanation as to why the process hadn't started to which the response was I do not know. I also believe that the true total costs were not communicated as I have been in talks with several solicitors who all seem to have the same costs involved for that service. Normally I wouldn't have bothered as I'm quite an easy ozzie person but on this occasion were the transfer of titles was time critical I felt that more could have been done to facilitate my requirements i.e. better communication with regular updates.
Having used Tait Macleod for conveyancing (Elaine) and Fraser for legal advice I highly recommend them. Both Elaine and Fraser were extremely professional, knowledgable, friendly and nothing was too much trouble. I will happily use Tait Macleod again.
Utterly fantastic. I used them for our house back in 2009 and was faultless. Recently our family and friends use them regularly for various services, affordable and dependable. I cannot recommend them enough. I see there is a few false reviews added which is terrible. I can only assume it's getting confused with a similar named local business.
Elaine has been amazing throughout our whole house move - handling issues before we even knew about them! She's got a great, friendly approach and was always happy to explain everything in detail for us. She's seen us and a family member through 3 house sales and purchases over the last 7 years or so and I can't fault the service we've received. I'd happily use Tait Macleod again.
