Another shop that I’ve visited on numerous occasions but never left with anything but disappointment. The culture of the staff is to act indifferent to customers. Dereham store is the complete opposite and very helpful and attentive. On my recent visit to Fakenham branch, I was the only customer in the store which had two staff at the time, one at the till and one on the door doing hand gel duty. I stood waiting at the till, but was ignored. I stepped closer, and was only then looked up at from the keyboard and told ‘I’ll be just a minute’. When I asked questions about the item I was interested in, I was told that it was new and they didn’t know anything about it, and that one had just came in and had been opened ready for display. Surely as the box was laying open the specifications could have been read to me from the packaging. The glum faced lady then walked back behind her anti-covid screened til and ignored me again and continued tapping the keyboard. I found this attitude both arrogant and rude. I believe strongly in buying local, but when I can read about and compare an item online, then get next day delivery, it doesn’t make sense to put up with rudeness and bad feeling in order to get the same item. If only on my next visit I can be treated attentively, politely and with some enthusiasm, then I will continue to shop here. In the end I bought the item from Hughes Norwich, on the same day.

Friendly and helpful staff
Pretty much always buy my electrical gear from hughes as they carry a good selection of stock, always had very good service and advice from Fakenham or Norwich don't really bother with the big boys as they don't seem interested or care like Hughes. I will definitely use them again when something electrical destroys itself.
Friendly staff and can find you items that are not in stock on their computers. However, I really don't appreciate sales pitch and techniques. There methods can be strong to push the sales figures up. So you don't feel you are getting the product that you really want, annoying....
Staff are excellent. They know all the lastest info on the up coming Tech. Very helpful and amazing. There is a staff member called Neil who is excellent and he is very helpful. I will always use Hughes over anyone else. 5 Star Rating. Keep up the amazing work. Michael
We visited the Fakenham Store on 18th August and had the pleasure of being served by Neil. He was knowledgeable about the two items we purchased, without even having to look up the items. He was extremely friendly and efficient. He acknowledge us when we entered the store, and offered help and didn't push or pester us. When we then approached him he looked up previous purchases and built a very good report with my mother. Thank you Neil, we will know where to come if we need anything else. Sorry we can't give you more than 5 stars.
Very helpful and friendly electronic store they listen they let you browse they don't assist until your ready they have a wealth of knowledge on each product they have a delivery service and plenty of room to manoeuvre a wheelchair or scooter around. Highly recommended.
