I visited this restaurant in the dead of winter. What a surprise to find real Cuban food so far north was mind blowing. My husband tried the halibut Cuban style with a creamy sauce which was delicious. He actually let me have a bite. My 12 year old tried the shrimp pasta and loved it. I had the spicy shrimp creole style equally delicious. This jewel is well handled with the limited space, and the staff is very personable and genuine. Our family felt very comfortable being here and had great food and wonderful service. I highly recommend.

All I can say is WOW! I certainly didn't expect to find a little piece of the Caribbean on my trip to Fairbanks. When we walked in it the sounds and smell made me feel like I had just disembarked a cruise ship. The food was fabulous. I had the steak that the owner recommended and my friend had the pork. Both were phenomenal. I highly recommend visiting this jewel. You won't regret it.

So many diverse eateries in this little town. We found tasty food in so many unexpected places. But the one that took the crown for us was Jazz Bistro and consequently the highlight of our trip to Alaska! A cute little Cuban restaurant in downtown Fairbanks, if you can believe it, right? The food here was delicious, fresh and it appeared it was made to order. The place was a little small but intimate and with a great atmosphere. During our visit, we had made reservations on Valentines. They had a trio that performed during different times throughout the night. The music was great and these guys were very talented. The keyboard player played two decks and sang and the main singer was funny and was such an entertainer. We both loved him. Some of the other guests responded to the music in praise and at one point got up from their tables and began dancing to the Latin tunes. What a treat. This was much needed from being locked up due to COVID-19, definitely an awesome experience and for us a great anniversary gift. They were very busy that night. We were happy we were able to get a reservation. We had such a great time. Thank you. And for those traveling visit this little gem, you wont regret it.

Food - 5/5 Very delicious. The chef cooked halibut very nicely. Wait time - 1/5 Between sitting down and getting salad took roughly 30 minutes. It took another 30 minutes to get our main course. Then another 30 min to get our dessert. Check took another 30 minutes. All of those times were either when we sat down or after we finished our food. We waited for 2 hours on top of actual dining time. I'm guessing this is due to a low number of staff members in the kitchen due to Covid-19. I can't say for sure. Atmosphere - 4/5 Tables and chairs were not as comfortable as I expected. The dining area itself was adequate in my mind. One of the lights flickered multiple times throughout dinner. Live music - 4/5 When a guest singer and one of the restaurant staff (possibly owner; never asked) sang, it was great. They were able to squeeze in three songs before the restaurant staff had to go back to support the kitchen/waiting team. Overall, expect a longer wait time. I would expect the restaurant to be faster if just about every aspect of our society isn't affected by Covid-19.

I've been at a lot of restaurants in town this week. This one is my favorite by far! (Unless you want breakfast, then go to The Crepery). But I also do a lot of travel. And I mean a LOT of travel. I make it a point to find the good places to eat every place I go. Jazz Bistro on 4th is easily, EASILY in my top 10 list from everywhere I went. It's a tiny place with plans for expansion and adding on a dance floor for some salsa. But if you are in the area, absolutely make sure you stop in here at least once! I had the salmon last night and the lechôn today was even better!
