'Buyer Beware' could have been written about here. A LOT of base metal and plate is sold (I'd say knowingly) as silver and sometimes gold. It has a bad reputation locally. If you buy from here: test, test and test. And make sure you insist on getting your money back if something is sold with the wrong description. There are much more reliable auctioneers out there.

Fantasic, and they don't charge a fortune for postage like other auction houses. You can bid on-line the auctioneer is hilarious, think each for sky\ voice (very upper english) mixed with only fools and horses humour...Love it! Will 100 percent use again, thank you, you lovely bunch at Whitton & Laing

Charming old fashioned auctioneers, they don't make profit on their P&P like others do and post the goods out super fast I have spoken to Mr Laing a few times on the telephone, lovely man. I bid and win here quite a lot as an antique ring dealer and never had issues or arguments.

Very old fashioned auctioneers and administratively very disorganised. Confusingly they auction at two different places. No bank transfers, they send cheques in the post still. I would not recommend them.

Beware, I used this company to auction the contents of my deceased mothers estate and found them to be very unprofessional. No paperwork was completed by them when items were collected, luckily I had lists and photographs to prove the items had been taken by the auction house. Some items of furniture were so incorrectly described and dated in the auction information that this negatively affected the prices achieved. I had to call and email continuously for several months to find out if items had sold and getting paid for sold items took months of chasing up and eventually threats of legal action. Items were lost and possibly sold that have not been accounted or paid for and items were often sold below agreed reserve prices without prior consultation. I have now given up trying to get this company to account for all the items they collected as it is now over a year since my dealings with them and I am still waiting on a reply to my last few emails. Having to deal with this appalling company has been incredibly stressful and something I hope I never have to go through again.
