Freshly cooked and crisp batter! Very friendly staff and an information board telling you where the fish were caught and the potatoes grown. Really reasonable prices too. Would definitely recommend!

AMAZING fish and chips. The best we've ever had. We turned up without knowing you had to book in advance but it was early and they just opened. Honestly, if you go to Staithes, VISIT THIS PLACE but make sure you book your food in advance. Oh and order the homemade tartare sauce. To die for.
Walked in not knowing we needed to book, the lady behind the counter was lovely about it and let us order! Ive been down south for a long time and it was wonderful to have proper northern fish & chips again. Absolutely loved them 10/10 - the tartare sauce ... I could bath in the stuff! Mint!
Recommended by the people that own our holiday cottage. Amazing food, best jumbo cod ever. So good we have changed our plans for Friday night so we can go back again. If you are in the Staithes area you must go.
Stumbled across this top rate fish and chip shop after a four mile circular walk around Staithes- Port Mulgrave left us in need of sustenance . Lovely fresh fried chips and a delicious fish pattie did the trick. Great quality food, local potatoes, sustainable fish, extensive chippy menu and really friendly service. The best chippy I've been to in ages ( and I've been to a great many) Well done everyone at the Excelsior.
