I wasn't going to do a review but I kept getting emails from Halfords asking me to so here you go. To be fair your actual staff were fine but my overall rating is bad because my car failed the MOT and I was presented with a quote for over 260 to rectify. However I was aware that this work had already been done only one year earlier (by a qualified motor mechanic) and I do not do enough miles to cause the driveshaft boots to decay/wear. The work was carried out on the previous MOT and was not done by Halfords as they refused to do the work with me supplying the main dealer parts for the job. Which I suppose is fair enough as they can’t warranty the repair unless they supply their parts which incidentally were a lot more expensive than the main dealer as far as I could see. The MOT was done by an agency person I was told later. After an inspection with a torch, the next day I queried the MOT failure and your actual staff confirmed my theory that the driveshaft boots were fine. Rectified by issuing a certificate and apologising mentioning it was the agency person who did the test. So my whole experience was ruined by your use of an inept MOT tester or maybe the inept MOT tester was on a commission for the 260 quote? My point is I shall never use or recommend your business again. I hope this review is an isolated experience as quoting for unnecessary work is very low especially when it’s an MOT and you feel pressured to get the work done on a major defect which can invoke a large fine. Suggest you review your agency staff policy.

They were really friendly and helpful when I called and visited. They were flexible in finding an appointment for me an offered to check my tyres before the MOT (I knew they might not pass). The MOT was done quicker than estimated. I couldn't have asked for better service.

My visit was hassle free and they replaced one of my faulty bulb free of charge which was a nice gesture. I would definitely recommend Halfords for MOTs for an efficient and hassle free service.
