Having scanned a few previous reviews of this restaurant I was not overly sure due to the mixed experiences. Ranging from very good to very bad did this place have a Jekyll and Hyde syndrome! We decided to head out to Pau and if this restaurant didn’t take our fancy there are many more close by that we have visited and liked. To our amazement when we arrived the restaurant was full inside and outside on a Wednesday lunchtime! The Manager/Boss suggested we could wait for a short time for a table which we opted to do. So pleased we did as our experience was outstanding with first class service, food, ambiance and location. We will return and hope the consistency is there....

Every dish is excellent, this place is always busy with locals. We went twice in 3 days and tried as many things as we could on the menu. Highly recommend Steak Tartare and Escargot. Beware the main size serve of Steak Tartare is huge and can serve 3 people, there is an entre size available if you only want it for 1. The ice cream is made in house with real berries and is delicious. Will definitely be back here to try everything again.
NOT FOR FOREIGNERS. prices are over the moom and the food doesn't make up for it. We don't speak french and when we approached speaking in english&spanish we were instantly treated in a different way compared to other guests. Rude and discriminatory.
Worst food I ever had.... very busy place, very very expensive. Food quality is literally disgusting, not only mine but looking at all tables around all food looks the same horrible.
The restaurant was packed at lunchtime so we sat on the balcony. I had the escargot for starters which were decent, with a nice garlic butter. The 300g of Chateaubriand beef with foie gras was delicious. It was cooked perfectly and the sauce accompanied the meat really well. The frites were very disappointing; most were just tiny pieces. The service was friendly but average since we asked for some things several times and we were forgotten about. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant as the food is delicious and the portion sizes are huge.
It's maybe one of the busiest restaurants in Pau, lots of locals and business people visiting go there due to its location, the good quality of food, and variety of options. As the taste is always the same, you get the feeling it's industrialized.
Excellent food. Excellent service. I highly recommend if you are visiting Pau. Try the Huîtres appetizer, it is amazing!
Large group of us enjoyed a great evening sat outside overlooking the square. It was a Monday evening so choice in the area was somewhat limited. They were busy but happily added more tables for us outside. Particular favourites from the group were the duck breast and creme brulee. Service was attentive and food was fast to arrive. Highly recommend.
