Very nice peaceful place where you can walk around a lake. Take a picnic. Has a few seats around the lake and wooded areas. At the entrance/exit there is a cafe next to a children's enclosed safe play area. Not a huge car park so can get very busy in peak times. But well run clean and tidy.

A very pleasant area of natural beauty, but more Park than Garden as regards flowering plants. I'm giving three stars only because in relation to many other NT properties I've visited, it's not that big as regards the grounds and doesn't have a large house to visit. Still worth while spending a couple of hours here. I did two circuits to get a better walk. The lake is very nice and has various water foul including Egyptian Geese and a Black Swan. There is a Caffè kiosk serving cakes, sandwiches and refreshments. The children's play area is currently closed

A wonderful day out for families or couples, the entire place can be appreciated in any weather, the lake is a perfect centrepiece and the path around leads you though the forest where in the summer you can see beautiful flowers - especially up on the hill. There are many ways to go around and explore Claremont, there being plenty of ways to deviate from the main path to find beautiful somewhat hidden areas. There is a cafe/shop at the entrance where you can enjoy a range of drinks and food as well as find various books in their small shop area. There is even something for the smaller children - two play areas, one of which you'll come across next to the cafe, and the other requires a climb up a hill to get to the forest clearing, though the playground quality is definitely worth it to appreciate how it fits in with the surroundings. All in all, a great day out for all ages!

Such a lovely welcome by staff. Walking round the Frozen Pond enjoying the scenery from top of hill. Then having a well deserved hot drink from the kiosk. Great way to spend a longdown walk.

First visit and thoroughly enjoyed it. They have a good one way system going around the lake although not everyone follows that idea when you explore further afield but plenty of room to pass each other. A smaller estate as it's close to London but the cafe was open for coffee and some food options.
