The Dutch Institute for the Investigation of Balances (NIVOT - Nederlands Instituut Voor Opsporing Tegoeden) is responsible for the investigation, and the administrative and financial handling of assets. For example, savings, assets by inheritance, dilution or sale of (holding) shares and limited partnerships, war funds, claims in a bankruptcy, assets in an expropriation proceeding and / or payment of life insurance, the latter can occur, for example, in combination with inheritance. The Dutch Institute for Investigation Balances has access to various national and international registers. The NIVOT has partnerships with organizations at home and abroad, for this purpose. Unfortunately, it’s a fact that many organizations don’t have an active screen policy to approach legitimate owners to access and to still forward the funds. The NIVOT is the support organization in the Netherlands when it comes to an active approach of citizens and businesses.
