Ennju is a total hidden gem. Tucked away on East 17th just off Union Square Park, Ennju has wonderful casual and quick Japanese meals that you order at the counter. The food quality is super high and I really look forward to each meal that I have here. They have a huge variety of dishes to choose from and all of the ones that I have tried have been excellent. My favorite dish from them is the Salmon Skin Don, which has little pieces of salmon and salmon skin in a bowl with rice and seaweed with a few daikon radishes. It’s so good! They also have a nice little selection of prepared foods if you’re in a real hurry. But dishes ordered off the menu come out really quickly and this is really a top-notch, quick Japanese place. I could not recommend Ennju more!

Small but nice, a casual atmosphere with decent food for a good price, and extremely friendly staff. The kind of place good for becoming a regular at, traditional Japanese food, and a surprising amount of variety available on their menu.

Food: alright Value: excellent Friendly staff. Get the bento for a really good value lunch but just know what you are getting. The made to order foods are okay, not the best but you still get a good amount of food for how much you are paying. They also have a lot of different rice balls which are pretty good depending on what you like. Oh by the way you get free soup with the made to order food items.

Wide variety of tea served in a kettle. Plenty of space to sit. Fresh pre-packed rolls for fast takeout. Delicious Japanese hot foods and soups. Good prices. Ordering also available through Seamless. Authentic décor.
