An old fashioned styled bakery with a vast selection of breads, cookies, pastries, etc. They are open as of 6.30 AM which was great as we suffered jet lag and were normally one of the first customers.

This is my favorite bakery in Enkhuizen. It's almost always busy, because everything is so good! My favorite bread, for which I have a weekly standard order, is the \spelt licht\ (spelt light). It is a delicious multigrain and seed bread which manages to be light at the same time, with a chewy and crispy top crust and comforting flavor. The volkoren is a darker, slightly denser bread than the spelt light, and its rich flavor and texture makes it my second favorite. Don't even get me started on all the beautiful cakes, pies, tarts, and chocolate croissants. I could go on, but you get the picture. Added bonus, most of the breads can be purchased by the half loaf, if you want to try one but are on a day trip or cruise and don't want leftovers. They make cheap, delicious sandwiches for you while you wait, also. Perfect for a picnic. Stop at Bakkerik Rood, you'll be glad you did!

The best bakery in Europe! Great muffins and Frikadel pastries. All made fresh and with love :)
