There is a variety of orchids that grow well in San Diego area, small unbloomed orchids for 10.00, small succulents for 1.00, small indoor or patio plants for shaded areas for 4.00. They are very knowledgeable in plant care, will share tips with you and produce very healthy plants. I came to buy dendrobium and cymbidium hybrids but found so many more! My patio plants will come indoors Dec and Jan, but they are outdoors the rest of the time.

Brought an empty, hanging wall planter into this nursery and the owners helped me pick out a selection of succulents that would do well in indirect light. Can’t beat the 1 succulents (including a few cool looking variations I’d never seen before) so we stuffed a bunch of cuttings into the planter and a few weeks in, things are filling out beautifully. Also bought an orchid, and with their instructions have managed to keep it alive (so far)! Will definitely be back!
We met the owner of Cosgrove Orchids as we were driving around looking for nurseries in Encinitas that would help with our wedding as we wanted succulent cuttings and a few other plant cuttings for the flower arrangements for our wedding. The owner was very friendly and informative and was able to help us out. We got a better deal than we had been quoted at some of the larger local nurseries. The cuttings were ready on time and were in great shape. We took home a beautiful Waterfall orchid as well for our living room centerpiece and that was also cheaper than what you would pay at most of the Orchid Farms in Encinitas. Would definitely recommend this hidden gem! Here are a few photos from our wedding of the arrangements that we made using the succulent cuttings.
