Fantastic family day out - felt very safe with all the COVID measures in place - can’t wait to go back - we visited in half term oct 2020
Cafe is closed due to COVID 19, but the seconds shop and retail shop are trading. Great selection of current and discontinued stock. Good but not amazing mark downs - ie 25 - 50%. Worth a visit.
Extremely rude staff. Retraining on customer service urgently required, especially in the cafe. As a customer you feel as though staff are humouring you and that you are putting them out by being there. Not very welcoming in all areas, staff are far too important to serve a nuisance customer. Not a wide range of designs in the shop.....more in local John Lewis.......very unexpected. On arrival bad language being shouted across the car park by staff on smoking breaks. Not a pleasant visit, wouldn’t recommend.
I was so excited about visiting the factory. We were travelling long distance and it suited to make a stop off at the factory. I carefully read the website the evening before to make sure what was open and when. The first problem arose when we arrived after a 3 hour drive to find the toilet facilities are shut. No mention of this in the website. Followed by slow queues to get into each different area. Various parts closed, none advertised in the website or clearly marked at the factory. Desperate for the loo we decided to queue for one shop for a quick visit. On entering there were no staff at the door and a simple notice with hand sanitiser. I nearly missed the poorly marked one way system and stopped to admire some pottery. At this point an assistant loudly called at me across the shop that if I “insisted” on touching anything I was to put it in the disinfecting table. Fair enough, but a sign or prior notice would have been nice. I was then again loudly told, from across the shop, that my face mask wasn’t regulation and I would need to either change it or leave. By this stage everyone in the shop had stopped to watch. I was mortified and embarrassed. Had the assistant been at the door on entering, had there been information on the website or notices at the door, all this would have been avoided. The pottery is lovely, but I would definitely avoid visiting ever again.
