After we had a problem with our tank the lady there tested the water, took time to offer good advice when the test showed nothing out of the ordinary, and didn't try to flog us anything we didn't need. It was clear that she was very knowledgeable and also cares about fish! This will be my aquatics shop of choice now in Sheffield.
I'd previously seen reviews of this shop were great and would rather support an independent business than a chain so went for a visit today. I am new to fishkeeping and they gave me tons of extremely helpful advice and had every product j required to start a fishless cycle. Service was fantastic and they are extremely friendly and informative. Will definitely revisit at a later date for my live plants and eventually my fish!
its a ok shop but something it like I feel unwelcome and its very rushed at times also when getting fish you don't realy get what you have chosen as you have to go to the till while the owner gets your fish for you and you don't get a chance to see whats in the bag before getting home. there has been a few times I've ask for snails with no damage but on both occasions there is damage on the shells. also had dead fish after a week but I do have to say the owner will sort any problems out if you have dead fish witch is a good thing I will still continue to use this shop as it is convenient for me and its a local business that need support. Also as a result of this review the lady can't take any bad criticism as she has now blocked me from messaging them how rude and inconsiderate I think you need to take some customer service training and get a grip its an opinion. I could have understood if I had slated your shop but I didn't also I could have mentioned the amount of dead fish I've seen in your tanks first thing on a Wednesday morning but I didn't. Very unprofessional of you I will now be taking my custom to someone who will appreciate there customers and not judge them on a review or get the face on about it.
Great local aquatic pet store. Friendly owners and well kept stock including many exotic pets you don't see in other places. Also sell live plants for your aquarium and good advice is given as to which is best to get. All my fish from Elm Lane Aquatics survived the journey home and settled in lovely. Highly recommended.
