Went into Elliot Street Pharmacy for advice on the best product for mouth ulcers. They provided me with Orajel Extra Strength which at the time I didn't know was the wrong product (because im not a pharmacist) after using the product I realised that it was not working and only providing relief for less than 50 seconds. After realising that the product was ineffective I decided to check online, only to realise that they had sold me the wrong product. The most important ingredient in Orajel is Benzocaine which can cause a condition in which your blood tissue don't receive enough oxygen, which can cause breathlessness, seizures and even death. Which are not favourable symptoms. I then phoned the pharmacy and the person on the phone told us that it was the wrong product and asked us to come in, so we did, and when we got there the pharmacist was adament that the product was the same as others sold by the same company and refused to offer a refund, despite their mistake and they even admitted to knowing that the product was somewhat ineffective for treating mouth ulcers anyway. So not only did I risk catching covid 19 to go out to the pharmacy, they had also endangered my life by selling me a product with double the amount of benzocaine which is supposed to applied to your teeth rather than your skin. They essentially wasted my time by asking us to come in, just to turn us away with no resolution. This level of incompetence in simply unacceptable and I refuse to accept that we live in a world where the patient/customer is supposed to be more knowledgable on a health issue than the pharmacist. They have now been reported to trading standards and I will not be returning. Never been more disgusted in my life... Terrible, terrible service.

An efficient pharmacy with a wide selection of items in stock, possibly the best range in the area. The staff have always been helpful and meet any queries with a politeful manner. The pharmacists are knowledgeable and often more helpful than our local GP. Extended opening hours too, which compared to other local chemists, is a real bonus. However, my opinion of their delivery team is not as positive. I often see drivers in the local area park at the inconvenience of others and blithely contravene the Highway Code, especially the 20mph speed limit around Elliott Street.
5* always helpful .thorough and the best I think x
