I received a very warm welcome on my first few visits. The service was both uplifting and enlightening. I look forward to future visits when my work schedule permits. And what they say is true, the coffee is REALLY GOOD!

Interested in spirituality but feel limited by some religious traditions? Atheists, agnostics, and theists are all welcome. You're also welcome if you don't know exactly where you fit in. You'll gain many great companions for life's journey. Channing people are smart, funny, and incredibly loving. My favorite activity so far is the monthly Contemplative Conversation on a Wednesday night, where the minister shares a story from one of the world's traditions- Native American, Buddhist, Hindu, etc.- and we all first meditate and then share in a circle our reactions to that story. We use a talking stick in order to encourage deep listening to each other's thoughts. I also love the drum circle that we have every other month, on a Friday evening.

This was the church where I decided to enter training to become a minister. I'm not the only one who has had this experience. Channing is truly a life changing place. Reverend Susan bring the Judeo-Christian-Muslim heritage to life for modern times in a way to which Humanists, Atheists, Buddhists, Hindus, Pagans and others can all relate. This was an extremely warm and caring congregation, where it's easy to get to know people and folks take a genuine interest in your life and growth. The hymn singing here is enthusiastic and loud (you may even occasionally see people dancing!), and the choir brings beautiful classical and contemporary songs to life. Snack time is taken seriously here, with a variety of homemade baked goods often available, and there's always plenty of hot coffee. It's a small but lively church which is growing quickly, and you should definitely check it out! Make sure to come to Reverend Susan's Contemplative Conversations group, and sign up for the New Members class. Both are great ways to get a good feel for the theology and community of the church in an inviting, low pressure setting. Whoever you are and wherever you are on the journey of life, you are welcome in this place!

Channing Memorial prides itself on its community atmosphere. Its members are most welcoming and truly want to know your feelings and impressions of your visit. Please come to a Sunday service at 10 AM and stay for social hour. I promise you won't be disappointed.

Channing's congregation is warm, friendly, and open. Reverend Susan's sermons are thought-provoking. She's a very caring and spiritually discerning minister. The music director is wonderful. People who start coming to this church get readily involved in its activities for a reason.
