We've been to Mexico and California a LOT and the food was as good and even better than anything I've had. It started with those chips. We went through 2 big baskets and 3 bowls of the amazing salsa. I knew I wouldn't be able to eat much later, but it was like crack. I had the Relleno, and it was spectacular. Better than the one at Isla Mujeras, where my fav had been for years. Huge, and the pepper had excellent texture, unlike the slimy ones at many places. Even the refried beans and rice were really good. My husband had the enchiladas verde; his four filled the entire plate and he could only eat two. We walked in the next door bakery which I will visit again when I'm not so stuffed. Best Mexican food I've had in Louisville! Every thing is freshly made, portions are large and it was cheap! Really nice waiter, but he was working the whole place; they could have used another server. We can't wait to return, the menu is so tempting.
Literally best Mexican food I've had in Louisville so far. What a hidden gem!! I've tried so many Mexican restaurants in Louisville and all around the country and this is definitely in my top 3 so far. The salsa, the chips, the main entrees, the drinks, and even the desserts were all delicious! I highly recommend trying the chimichanga, so good. The staff is very friendly, Juan is an awesome server. I wish everyone could know about El Mariachi, and don't forget to stop by the Bakery next doors to get some delicious baked goods!
Expect a wait during lunch hour. But well worth it love this place.....
