Great frozen strawberry margaritas. Good food. Awesome vibe. Love the low lighting. Sometimes they have free buffets. Upstairs turns into a little club for those who want to eat and dance. Would keep Coming back!

I really miss the Shrimp Fajitas... great place with great atmosphere. Also the salsa, the margaritas... hope it still stands when this is all over (the pandemic). I'd love to go back there.
One of my favorite Mexican restaurants in the neighborhood. Other than La Contenta and Tortaria. The waiters and service is so good at El Cantinero. The food is delicuous as well. They used to have this small hidden bar upstairs that you can go after or before, pretty sweet spot but due to covid 19, it's closed. Restaurant is open though. I'm glad they finally did.
Everything was good here. They have a nice outdoor dining area set up and we were able to walk up at 9pm on a Tuesday night easily. Service was quite prompt and the food (enchiladas and a burrito) was delicious.
Warm fall Saturday night in NYC. We were in the mood for Mexican food. Shared some guacamole and chips to start. Corona beau opted for shrimp fratitas. me? Veggie enchiladas with salsa verde. Meal was great. Loved the tented area to eat on University place. Friendly and efficient staff.
