My experience on March 8, 2021 with the Genius Bar was quite disappointing. I have a 3 month old iPhone 12 Pro that was having distorted sounds through the ear receptor speaker. The Genius tested it and it returned issues. He took what appeared to be grey putty and removed some debris from the phone and retested it, claiming it was fixed. The volume and crackling was the same. He refused further help. I asked to speak to the store manager, Joshua, and that was even worse. I reported the associate and the store manager to an Apple Senior Advisor. I have been an Apple client for 28 years and have never had a combative discussion with any Apple employee. Both employees interrupted me, spoke over me, and were very didactic. Yesterday, I took the phone to the West Edmonton Mall store and it's a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT experience. the associate listened, tested, shared the Southgate data that was contained within the file, and then offered to reset the phone and obtained permission to replace the defective components immediately. My advice is to completely avoid the Southgate store until this "leadership" is gone. It's nice when someone actually cares about a consumer issue. I won't go back to Southgate. Ever.

Are you locked down and have nothing to do, have you considered... The mall? The mall is a great place to go and buy things because there are many difficult stores under one roof which different than if you had to go outside to go to different places.
Get yourself a Nespresso machine and find the coffee or espresso you like best. The staff here are experts on the subject.
Love having the Apple store at Southgate. Went in for a minor iPhone issue. Technician helped and said it’s covered under warranty. Easy fix and short wait and back to normal. Excellent support and friendly staff.
I purchased an iPhone 12 max on the 26th of December 2020. I was told I'd receive a 310.00 credit to my visa for my trade in. So I sent my trade in to apple, they decided to give me a 250.00 gift card and 60.00 to my visa. This is after I purchased a brand new phone, case, screen protector and a wrist band for my apple watch. So I called to try and receive a credit from that gift card to my visa as a gift card is now useless to me. They told me they sent in the request and it'll be processed in 2 weeks, which was fine with me, three weeks went by and I called again. The customer service representative told me I'll receive a credit in 3 days. It's been 2 weeks since he said 3 days and I still haven't heard anything. I called back today 02.17.21 and talked to a different representative who said they made a mistake and will be re submitting a request to refund my credit card. This will be another week to 2 weeks after my third attempt. At this point all I can do is hope for a refund. This may not be a Southgate apple store problem but I definitely wouldn't recommend trading in a old phone or buying a new phone from apple. Horrible customer service.
Like others said, this location has shameful customer service. You're better off calling the Apple customer service phone line than coming here. Had an audio issue with a brand new, week old, iPhone and I brought it to the genius bar to get it repaired. Representative and his manager refused to acknowledge the issue, and told me to return the phone if I didn't like it. How is that helpful customer service? I ended up calling Apple customer service and the representative was very sympathetic to the issue, presented all available options, and was able to replace the faulty device with 0 hassle.
They are very organized for ensuring safe shopping during COVID. It’s best to buy your items online first. There is a bit of a line up during busy times in the express line, so be prepared to stand for a short period of time. The security guard helps direct you where to stand and maintain safe social distancing while lined up.
My daughter's IPHONE had broken, we were 6 day from the end of our Apple Care contract, and after missing an email from Apple, we found ourselves to have pass the end of Apple Care replacement contract. After Talking to one very nice Apple technician (at the SouthgateMall), she fix it all up, and we got a new replacement IPHONE right there. Now that's customer satisfaction. Thank you.
