Lovely staff. Covid compliant. Very interesting food. 4 course tasting menu is fabulous value at 35 I wish I could eat that apple tart every day.

Came here for my first experience of "fine dining", and I was not disappointed! We went for the four course lunch menu and requested a vegan menu when booking. They were excited to cater for us and the food and wine was really excellent. The staff were knowledgeable and friendly, and made the whole experience very enjoyable. It came to 125 for lunch for two and a bottle of wine. So an expensive treat, but we're excited to come back again one day!

My brother bought me the cook at home meal with matching wines as a present. Delicious and easy enough to do at home to restaurant standard.

A wonderful experience! We had the four course tasting menu (plus an extra course of ox cheek) and it was just great! The cauliflower dish was a particular highlight! I had provided allergy information in advance and was informed as soon as we were seated that I was being given a different pudding to accommodate this. The staff were incredibly friendly and made it a lovely lunchtime dining experience. A great selection of non-alcoholic drinks too, given the current restrictions.

Choice of 4,7 or 10 courses which are all quite compact dishes but add up to a delicious and generous meal with some very interesting and quite experimental flavours. Friendly and helpful staff, overall very good value. No wine just now because of pandemic rules but the alcohol-free beer is very good!

The nicest meal I’ve had in Edinburgh. Having been based here for 7 years I had relatively high expectations. However, these were quickly surpassed! The 7 course tasting menu, at 65, was both innovative and fresh. I loved the care and attention to detail, as well as the 3 additional ‘nibble’ courses and some high quality bread and cured butter. You won’t be leaving hungry. The paired wines (an additional 60) were also innovative, offering unique tastings that paired perfectly. To top off the quality of food and wine, the service was faultless! Knowledgeable staff who want to educate. The cherry on top; I was there for my girlfriend’s birthday and the Fhior team had written her a birthday card and put a candle in the final course - all the small touches were perfect! Couldn’t have asked for more. Thanks to the all the team!

Absolutely highly recommended!! Firstly the interior is nice and cosy, there is a good distance between each table, it makes you feel that you can sit comfortably for a meal. The food is impeccable! The ingredients are fresh, the combination of each dish is well created! The taste really goes together! They also offer natural/organic wine which works well with the dishes. However when we asked one of the girl (she was very nice and helpful) about the wine list, we could see she doesn’t have much knowledge about the list and gave us some incorrect information on it. She probably felt that we were having a doubt on her advices, although we have ordered a bottle of wine, she still asked another person to come explain the wine list to us and helped us to find the wine we preferred.

We opted for the newly introduced 10 course menu with matched wines. We were amazed at the balance of flavours and the time and effort that was put into each dish. You wonder how they can make each dish so incredible and we said ‘they can’t improve on this’ at most courses, but they did. The wine pairings were spot on and definitely enhanced already excellent dishes. The service is friendly, unintrusive and very professional. We had no concerns about safety as the tables are well spaced and staff all wear masks. Can’t wait to visit again, definitely one of the best restaurants in Edinburgh. Well done team Fhior, you are amazing.
