Great place to visit on a sunny summer day. While you can just spend the day as I did, I would suggest to spend a weekend to take the most of the area and the Hever Castle Gardens and lakes. Perfect place for family, group of friends and couples. The Castle is a must to visit for its beautiful interiors and its story. It was home of Anne Boleyn and after being killed became a property of King VIII. The Italian Garden is very nice and well designed. A walk or boating around the lakes and enjoying the birds living in the area are another must..

There is so so much to do here. You can watch jousting, paint a shield or a crown, enjoy archery, and that is without the castle to explore. You need an entire day to get everything done. Take a picnic to enjoy the beautiful gardens and views. Staff are exceptionally friendly and very knowledgeable. The adventure playground is brilliant, even for adults!

Lovely walk and beautiful colours even on a wet day. We didn't enter the castle and thankfully so. There was a queue of 1 hour. I'm sure it must've been lovely on the inside, but the outside gardens and the whole area left us so happy that we did not miss the castle entry. Hot coffee, wraps and chips add to the romance on a wintry day too - don't forget to pick them up at the moat hotel near the castle.

I visited the gardens with my elderly parents on New Year’s Eve and was pleased and impressed with the arrangements, professionalism and helpfulness of the staff. My parents really enjoyed the experience again and even though it was pretty cold the whole day was very memorable. I unfortunately arrived a little late having hit some black ice and skidding into a bank but the staff were helpful and concerned and made the whole experience less of an issue. I would recommend the grounds and castle to any interested party. If you do enjoy it then you should definitely upgrade to an annual pass as you will always love going back repeatedly, on top of which, the staff, both grounds and hospitality, are amazing.

A marvellous piece of English History, Perfectly preserved, and surrounded by the most spectacular gardens and lake. The Castle has some extremely passionate historians there to welcome and guide you through the fascinating stories behind every room. That matched with the expertly restored building itself is a must for all. You can see the garden evolving before your eyes, and the work that has and continues to go in to creating the best environment for all seasons. Again with some incredible facts, such as the lake being hand dug over two years by no less than 800 people, it definitely doesn't disappoint. There is a free car park, and some restrictions to make things safe but nothing that will dampen a great day out.
