Nice menu, good food, but don't try to pay with their gift card. It can not be used for lunch which is not mentioned on the card. One waitress accepted the card earlier to pay for dinner and gave a new card for the remainder (100). Later we were told we could not use that anymore. I think thats theft. Review your gift card policy!

The food was just amazing. We had lunch and its was very good, but the dinner menu sounds better. The personal was good and friendly and the whole experience was good
Not much of a secret if you are a local, because it has been the to go to restaurant in Edam and Volendam for years. Great food and ambiance. They moved a couple of doors up the road to a bigger venue and managed to upgrade the decor and preserve the relaxed and informal admosphere at the same time. That is no small feat.
One of our worst experience ever! We visited restaurant based on our Dutch friends living around based on her recommendation. The waiter was very unpleasant already at the entrance without any reason for it. We could understand the request to make an order for drinks without menu, even this is a cheap trick from different tourist location. The menu presentation was pure, except the fact that we were notice to order at least 2 courses for persons. My wife decided to make an urgent phone call outside the restaurant,, take a glass of wine with her. She was run out by screaming waiter in few minutes that it is not allowed to drink outside (08.00 PM, -3 C, Edam), so we decided leave without to find the secret of Edam.
Great service, great food, great selection of drinks. Including many interesting choices of soft drinks.
Despite the extremely enthusiastic owner/waiter showing an arrogance about him, the food was excellent and really did make for a fantastic experience in Edam.

Wonderful food and service. Arjen is a truly knowledgable sommelier and knows his wines and whiskies. Can recommend this place to anyone with a taste for good wine and food.
