Been going to Eastern Spice for 20 years. Excellent food and friendly staff. Lovely little restaurant but takeaway standards are just as high. Would never go anywhere else in Cleckheaton!

Really lovely food, not oily at all, well cooked and full of flavour. Naan bread was excellent, as was the aloo gobi and the Vegetable Karahi was outstanding. Good sized portions (my subjective view only) and good service. Bring your own alcohol (there's an off licence 200m away on the same side of the road). Only slight annoyance on the night I visited was the noise from the kitchen/behind the scenes - it sounded like an industrial vacuum cleaner was being used! Would I return? Absolutely, highly recommended.
Covid alert - be wary of visiting this restaurant if you are concerned about social distancing and compliance with wearing masks. There is only one entrance/exit. There is a waiting area with no social distancing and no diner was wearing a mask. I could not see any signs about wearing masks. No attempt was made to capture my name and mobile number in case I had to be traced. Other than my wife/I - no one else in restaurant was wearing a mask other than I presume to be the elderly owner. Tables weren’t far enough apart. Food itself was ok but I was more concerned about the issues mentioned previously.
Always get the chicken rogan josh and it has always been really fresh and tasty. Service has always been prompt and good at this restaurant. Much better than some other local places. I would happily recommend to anyone.
