Mitchel Manor is in East Meadow, & East Meadow has an EXCELLENT elementary school and a middle school. My friends and neighbors all seemed happy with the high school as well. You will learn to be skilled at parallel parking depending on where you end up in the complex. There is a mix of civilians and military which is nice because you can become friends with locals. There are playgrounds, I had a small one in my back courtyard. Some courtyards are better than others. Mine was nice and quiet. Living at Mitchel Manor was the closet I have ever been to living with a lot of military around. I have never lived on a base, and Mitchel Manor has reinforced that because the only issues I had over 3 years there were from bored military spouses. Over all, it's a great location. Maintenance always fixed things in a timely manner and were professional, I never felt uncomfortable with them in my home. Carole and Gloria are hands down the people you will talk to regularly if you end up a tenant, & they are THE BEST at what they do there & they will try and help you the best they can.
