What an amazing place . It is a small church with an astonishing interior it has the oldest known wooden door and ceiling in England but the wall paintings are the thing to see they date back to 1130 AD it is hard to believe something so beautiful has remained intact in a small country church . It is maintained by English Heritage

Outstanding example of a Norman church. Full of wall paintings, very good information explains the history and meaning of the frescoes. Well kept by the friends of the church. Good signage until final point. Easy to drive past. Look for small footpath sign by the gate opposite a small lay-by.
Came back after 33 years to see this lovely Norman Church with amazing C12 wall paintings and ancient door.
What a find! Medieval wall paintings abound, with uncomfortable looking pews as they used to be. Well worth a visit. One of two churches in Kempley.
Beautiful little Norman church nestled in the Gloucestershire countryside. If you want to see some of the oldest early Medieval wall paintings in northern europe then this place has it in abundance, fantastic to see
