Glenora Farm is a BC registered charity that provides wrap-around residential and day program supports to adults with complex developmental disabilities. We embarked on the process of building a 7 bedroom, 5 bathroom, duplex-style licensed care facility on a working farm in early 2019, needless to say, our needs were complex and multifaceted. Over the last number of months, our organization has worked closely with all members of the David Coulson Design team. David and his team have deftly led us through the design / build project and we are grateful for the skill, dedication, experience, and sense of humour the DCD team brought to the table every day; their expertise, creativity, and commitment to the project is evident when you look at the end result, a beautiful and comfortable Farmhouse. We have had no issues obtaining a licensing permit and are settling in comfortably to this well laid out and aesthetically pleasing house.

After a successful and extensive 8 month renovation that transformed our waterfront property back in 2014, we called upon DCD once again to update a self contained one bedroom guest suite in our home. We TRUST and value the team at DCD. Though a smaller scale project than our initial one 6 years ago, they were happy to take it on and offer their expertise and guidance to ensure our investment ends up with the same quality that is reflective of the rest of the updates we have done. The team at DCD is respectful, innovative, hard working and committed to giving a quality product. Bringing in the various sub trades was fast tracked since they work with DCD on many projects and prioritize DCD’s projects quickly so everything was more streamline. Renovations can be a stressful and expensive endeavour but when you have a team that knows what they are doing with all the necessary contacts in place, it makes it a much easier experience with the end product reflective of the time, energy and investment put into it. My wife and I met with David twice in April 2018. We wanted to hire him to do a complete renovation of our waterfront house on Salt Spring Island. David told us that prior to signing a contract and paying him a retainer fee, that he would produce a draft concept for us in 3 - 4 weeks (charging us an hourly rate) so we could make sure we were on the same page before deciding to work together. Months went by with no word from David. I would politely follow up with him every couple of months by phone or email, and he would tell me that he was either really busy, out on his boat, or in Vancouver dealing with a sick friend in the hospital. David always told us to keep waiting, as our house design was in the works. We eventually agreed that we would meet at the end of October to review his plans. David chose the date, and suggested a firm deadline would be helpful. He then cancelled the meeting with less than 24 hours notice because he had nothing to show us. In total, over 8 months went by, without any follow up from David or his office. On December 31, we emailed David a polite note informing him that we were going to make other arrangements (figured we'd start fresh with someone else in the New Year) A week later, we get an email back from Dave suggesting that we weren't actually 'paying customers' and that he wasn't willing to work on 'speculation'. This floored us. Of course we were paying customers! All he needed to do was complete the work he agreed to do, and send us a bill!! BEWARE: DAVID DOES NOT DO WHAT HE SAYS HE'S GOING TO DO.
Hires racists to do work for him. Probably the worst construction company in Duncan. Definitely would never consider having such vile people stepping near me or any children. These people are sick in their head.
