Me and my good friends from work figured we would spend our one and only Sunday off enjoying good times and fast paced fun at the K1 Kart Racing in Duluth. This was quite clearly a mistake! Upon entry no one was wearing a mask or examining social distancing. I was able to disregard this small inconvenience, but it continued to go downhill from there. We paid a steep fee for membership along with our fee for 2 races. This didn't bother me, as I had enjoyed my 2 previous experiences at the K1 Duluth location. We were told we would have to wait 20 minutes for our first of 2 races. After 40 minutes we were called up to race. Our first race was what I expected: pleasant ,fast, and fun. This is where our experience fell as fast as my lap times. There was a GP Challenge going on. These racers were quite clearly prioritized throughout our visit. They raced, then proceeded to walk right back in and race again. I can even understand this as they may be regular customers at K1. We waited over 40 minutes for them to race, then waited 20 minutes to race again. After waiting we were excited for our final race. We started to race and we're put at a significantly lower pace than our first race. Everyone was quite clearly distraught and made it clear we wanted to go a faster pace. The workers responded with annoyed looks and putting us at an even lower pace. This destroyed our lap times and really took the fun out of our experience. We were then rushed out like cattle because the employees wanted to close early. My experience was frustrating and disappointing. All I can say is this might be my last time at K1.

Outrageously fun! Fast, powerful electric carts that scream around the track and take every ounce of your attention and effort to keep from crashing! Totally awesome experience. Although I didn’t see them run, they have smaller karts for the younger ones and only let them on the track with their own peers. There’s plenty of other things to keep a parent busy. You can even grab a beer and sit on comfy furniture. One of the coolest features is the tracking system. You race against the clock. At the end of each session, they give you a printout of your lap times with some stats. Awesome fast electric karts Cool statists and tracking Clean and comfortable for Grownups Beer and regular snacks available No drinking and driving!

The overall experience with the cars was fun. I marked down stars because there were very few covid precautions/cleanliness so be wary if you are trying to be covid safe. It was also impossible to get through on the phone. The staff was not wearing masks and then kept asking our group to get close together so they could explain directions as they yelled without masks- I’m not comfortable with that. Many groups of people came in without masks and if you don’t have a helmet, you’ll be sharing with those people. The bathrooms were gross- out of paper towels and the toilets were unflushed and covered in toilet paper- so clearly bathroom checks are not being done. I tried to get through on the phone to make a reservation beforehand and it kept giving me a busy tone instead of their voicemail. I tried to leave a message the corporate office to make a reservation, they never got back to me. I sent an email, they never got back to me.

Great place for indoor activity. Not a cheap entertainment spot, but if you know you will be back again, you can save some money by buying a bigger package. You can choose how many of the races you use per visit. The more you buy, the lower the price per race as you would expect. Use the chart in Google Maps to see when they are busiest. The wait for a race can get up-to 1-2 hours in the evening Friday and Saturday. Best time to come with juniors or young teens is from open until about 3pm. If it isn't too busy, you can get in on every other race which is a good pace. 3 race package mid day can take about 1.5 hours. A lot of fun and memorable. Use an email address with your annual membership and the race statistics are sent to you for every race.
