After a 15.1 km Meander along the first part of the “Trans Pennine Trail”, we enjoyed a well earned rest, a couple of pints and a very nice meal. Helpful friendly staff and a very pleasant environment. An ideal location for those, like us, using Merseyrail.

Just been to Bar Mio with my elderly mother who lives in Ainsdale village.. Stood there like a spare part to be seated. Nobody welcomed us. Ended up picking a table ourselves. Then just sat there. No menu guidance, nobody bothered to serve us. Staff walking about without masks. Got up and walked out. Not that they would have noticed. Dark and unwelcoming

Bar Mio is a nice bar, a good size for the area, I like the seating area outside and the function room is excellent and a shame it doesn't get more use. The tapas can be nice although not keen on a few items. It draws an older crowd than other places in the village.

Staff wearing face masks and visors with table service. Shame all customers not wearing masks when they walk in or go to the bar.
