Actually went last week, but this has been my first opportunity to write this review. Am a tad loathe to write the truth about the Duke of Wellington, as we had a wonderful experience there and don't want it to get any busier....... Purely for selfish reasons of course! It can be a little difficult to get a lunchtime booking, so book in advance to avoid disappointment. Food was absolutely outstanding, beautifully fresh and amazingly prepared and presented! The service was first class! Both friendly and highly efficient. Forgot to mention that it's also dog friendly! Another plus for us. Looking forward to going back tomorrow!!!!!! ️

Inextricably humble. This locals pub in the heart of Ryarsh is firstly a historic monument. It celebrated the quirks of bygone era architecture. Low beams, large open fires, comfortable seating in the bar area and a capacious area for the restaurant. The seating area outside looked the part, unfortunately it was too dark in the late evening to make use of. This is good old fashioned English pub service and locally sourced homemade food. It’s hearty, fresh and considerately prepared. The ribs, a recommendation by the bar staff, was immense in size. The meat, covered in a good dollop of sauce, fell off the bone and consumed without cutlery. The side of chips and salad, freshly prepared, complementing beautifully. The light and fruity Eton Mess dessert raised a smile. Fluffy and delicate. I’m happy that The Nevill Bull just up the road was shut. The Duke of Wellington is a gem.
Our group of six walkers had a really delicious lunch in the outside area today. The friendly and attentive staff were fantastic. Distancing measures were really well managed. Highly recommended. We'll look forward to coming back!
Had a wonderful Sunday lunch here today. This was my first venture out for a meal since March and I felt perfectly safe. Lovely friendly staff and food was really good
