Wowzer! Show up hungry. The Titanic portions served at the Dude Ranch Cafe easily satisfy a Paul Bunyan sized appetite. The food and service are excellent. Also, try the Maliboo chicken sandwich (pictured below); it’s delish.

The menu has a large selection favorite from the great American cookbook. Steak, white fish, burgers, chicken, turkey, potatoes. Impressive desserts are also a delight. The old fashioned malts are some of the better ones. Admittedly, it is not high end cuisine and special recipes and sauces, but it is the best for miles. And the salad bar is tiny. Service is very personable. Remember to call ahead... for whatever reason they close for a few days sometime. Also, pay your check up front.
Best bacon I've ever had. And a generous portion, 5 big pieces! The cook must have a very special bacon supplier. Plus the way it's cooked it ends up curly with just enough crunch. Need I say more? (Excellent friendly service. Not strong trucker coffee, but it was tasty. Terrific, fluffy scrambled eggs.) Highly recommend. We were on a long road trip from WA to AZ and it really hit the spot. Malad is a really cute little town.
Places like this are a treasure!! Home cooked type food! Always so good and if it’s crowded, it’s worth the wait!!!

My dad grew up coming here, i grew up coming here, and now our kids love coming here too.
Not a great experience. As a visitor from out of town the location is perfect. It’s a ‘seat yourself’ but the staff wasn’t monitoring the front of the house and we waited for a bit before anyone helped us. Overall the staff serviced us but not overly friendly. The food we ordered two burgers (with fries) a chicken fried steak (with mash and green beans) and breaded mushrooms total of (52). The burgers could have been used to play hockey and the chicken fried steak had a lot to be desired. The fries and the mushrooms were great. Not worth the price paid.
We go to Malad every year for My husband's memorial horse race and that's our stop for lunch on the way home to Utah. The employees go out of their way to accommodate our big family And their food is always lovely. Just a down home kind of place that we love. Food is always excellent
