I would describe this place, this zone, not as big, but as a very long and very wide square, in which it is comfortable to have a picnic, take a walk or ride a bicycle. And from this side you can see what can be called the \image of the restoration of the city.\ On this side there is a point from which you can see the modern look of the city, which is captured in one of the famous paintings only at the restoration stage. And at this very point there is even a metal frame with a signature, in which you can see exactly the part that is visible in the picture. Also, on this side from time to time, various cultural events take place, both autonomous, and those that take place on the territory of the Japanese palace, right next to this zone.

The Canaletto Blick is a part of the north bank of the River Elbe that has nice views of the south bank including Augustus Bridge, Residenzschloss, Dresden Cathedral and the Semperoper, all from one place. In truth, there are many places along either banks of the river where you can get great views, so there's no need to go out of the way to visit this spot. Although you won't be disappointed if you do.
