Ordered decking timber, all seemed well initially until we started laying the decking boards only to discover the width of the boards vary throughout. Particularly towards the ends. Some measurements we took would be 137mm wide and at other points it would be 145mm wide. This turned out to be a disaster for maintaining a consistent gap between the boards throughout. Not only that it is serious flaw in the machining of the boards. Due to this issue, instead of having perfect 4.8m lengths as planned. We had to chop into parts and make the best of what we had. Not only did it detract from the uniform look we intended at the start but meant we had alot of wood waste and time waste. Spoke with Brian at Drem Timber about this. He was unwilling to return the decking because it had screw holes in it and was made out that we damaged it. Well screwing it down was the only way to discover this. We had received a flawed product. After some back and fourth he reluctantly offered to give me 3 boards for free but did not want to accept this as an issue and reiterated the fact he has sold thousands of these over time. This may be the case but the batch i got was not right and has cost me money for a sub par product. Brian was of the attitude the he was doing me a favour and did not have to offer back anything. If you are looking for decking - simply avoid.
