If you want an afternoon out with the kids they will love this place. There is a good selection of railway stock from years gone but. There is also an old trolley bus amongst the collection. A model railway for all ages and a really good cafe. You won't be disappointed here. When you take the train look out for the unfinished tunnel inside, never seen this before. Interesting.

Brilliant driver experience, lasting all morning, with very friendly volunteer instructors. Drove a 10 ton diesel locomotive, checked hydraulics and oil level, changed points in typical old signal box, opened and closed level crossing gates and more. Drove the length of the line twice. A great experience all round which I would thoroughly recommend.
Great place. Run by UNPAID volunteers. People may wish to remember that before whining. Keep up the great preservation work folks
We were disappointed with their Christmas event, we did understand how difficult it must be with Covid to put on events but they could have decorated the platforms for the children especially at the stop/destination as no one could get off the train, it would have been lovely to see something through the windows. Also impossible to understand what Santa was saying as he passed along the passage...not a cheap event either!
Friendly atmosphere. Always so lovely and quiet I love visiting. There's also a good selection of activities including model railways, train rides, a cafe and bluebell woods
