The ideal course for university students. Number one in exam preparation. The working team is the best in Dortmund. I definitely recommend it.

There is a one of the best course in Dortmund. I can advise all if you want to get DSH exam . The Teachers are also friendly and they help each student at the classes. If you register for C1 courses they give %100 a place for each student. This course is near to U-Bahn(subway station). I found this course awesome.

Personally the best school ever. I spent the best days there. The courses are organized and the teachers and the whole team are very cooperative and friendly. After 6 months I was able to get my DSH with the grade 3. We were a big family and they helped us contact the universities to get the DSH places. I recommend it and am still friends with most.

IBZ is a good school in a privileged neighborhood with easy access through public transport, by foot or bike (own or loaned). It is literally downtown, so you have all kinds of services in the surrounding area. The facility is overall good, it is quite new, clean, and very organized. The staff is super nice, supportive, and open to ideas and suggestions. The prices are competitive and affordable. I chose this school because I was told by my partner, who studied at TU Dortmund and had classes there with IBZ staff, that they were excellent. I have already done the modules A2, B1, and B2. The first module was in person and the following two online due to the Coronavirus. I did not enjoy A2 so much because the 4 abilities were not very well-balanced, we had much more grammar and reading than listening and text production. Maybe it should be split due to the amount of topics. B1 was excellent and I learned a lot, even though it was online. B2 was very hard for me and I struggled a lot throughout the course. I couldn’t follow the classes and it wasn't overall fruitful. I think the considerably higher number of students (from 8 on average to more than 20) with different levels of proficiency affected the development of the course. I strongly believe that most of these problems were due to the Pandemic, but I can assure they did their best to keep the course running and provided as many resources as possible to do so. I think it is also important to highlight the school's approach because I made the mistake of not asking about it beforehand and later I found out the courses are focused on preparing the students for proficiency exams. Most students are there to prepare themselves for higher education programs whose language is German. My intention was only to learn to speak and being able to understand the natives, so I am a little disappointed. However, I like the school and decided to stay there anyway because they do an excellent job.
