Lovely area to walk with the whole family. Easy tracks to follow that suit everyone from those in a buggy to the elderly. Small cafe serves hot drinks and ice creams. Great place to spend a few hours amongst the trees

A good sized wood for a pleasant stroll. All routes are hard surface so bike buggy and wheelchair friendly. A memorial honouring the 9/11 disaster. Hot drinks available at kiosk and large car park available 4 coin toll on entry

I love Donadea, I could come back a hundred times. Very nice trails leading to different parts of the forest. Nice walk for families, couples and dogs as well. Also very nice to cycle through. There’s a small café where you can buy drinks, ice cream and pastries, but they only take cash since there is no reception inside the forest so bare this in mind. Otherwise there’s a small café outside that takes debit cards.

5e parking is bit pricey. Coffee shop waste of time but forest very nice

Beautiful walk, great coffee shop, lots of parking, very well kept park. Well done all involved.

I've been coming to the forest since I was a kid, I know every inch of it now and I can say with confidence that it is one of the best forest parks in Leinster. You can buy an annual pass from Coillte to get instant access to the park and all other Coillte sites for 40 euro, rather than paying the 5 euro per trip at the meter (this also saves the regulars from watching you struggle with your coins at the meter and creating a massive cue on the road). I would suggest walking beyond the cafe and continue on past the lake to the back of the forest, that's where the more scenic \off the beaten path\ trails are, but there are some nice trails around the lake as well if you're just dipping your toes.

Great forest park, can’t fault it at all, the small coffee hut with snacks etc is a real bonus. The only reason it gets 3 stars is the coin issue. People just don’t carry change nowadays, and it creates a large queue on entry to the park as so many people are caught out, thinking they can use their card. Get contactless installed!! It’s that’s simple. No problem paying for this beautiful space, but sort out the coin issue.

Really enjoy bringing my kids here and we recently got the annual pass. Wish the barrier was more responsive, as it sometimes creates unnecessary queues into the place though. The little cafe is hugely disappointing too, and there are no bins. If you do bring stuff with you, make sure you bring it home. We do not want the birds and ducks feeding on your plastic bottles!
