Brilliant school for my son to thrive in academically and enjoy a wide range of extra curricular activities. He really liked all his teachers and they all spoke positively about him.

Dollar Academy, founded in 1818 by benefaction of trader John McNabb, is an independent co-educational day and boarding school in Scotland. The open campus occupies a 70-acre (280,000 m2) site in the centre of the town of Dollar in Central Scotland. The school is at the foot of the Ochil Hills and is surrounded by Clackmannanshire countryside. I visited Dollar Academy to find records for my grandmother, who attended here in the 1880s. The archivist was able to help. She found all the information for me on the same day.
Excellent school.
Teaching is good but atmosphere is not ideal. Many cases of bullying where the victim has just had to leave the school rather than the culprits being properly punished. The community is very elitest. Definitely would not pay for prep school- costs so much money and I had a negative experience, with a lot of snobbishness seen in the teachers, children and parents. If you want to send your children there I recommend starting them into first year of senior school or in o 3rd year to start their national 5s.
