This hit the spot! A proper Birmingham balti. The staff are really helpful in offering alternative dishes that are not on the menu. For instance, they made aloo chat Puri as a starter for us, as well as a balti with Naga. They also do a handful of baltis which you can try in 2 smaller dishes (I had the chicken tikka bhuna balti and the lamb dopiaza). Both so lovely. The naans were awesome too (peshwari and a garlic naan ordered). We tried their special rice....omg sooo nice. Tarka daal and saag paneer as sides. Couldn't fault any of it. Definitely a place to go when I come back to visit my hometown. BYOB which is an added bonus I think. Bill came to about 47.

The food at Diwan is ecellent with really satifying flavours to all the dishes which makes the food here much better than most other curry houses. The staff happily accommodated requests for dishes not on the menu. I asked for an aloo chaat Puri which wasn't on the menu and it was lovely! I asked whether they had Naga chili paste and surprisingly they did so that made me a lovely vegetable and paneer Naga balti! There is the option to have two main dishes as smaller portions so you get to sample two main curries. My friend went for this, choosing a dopiaza and a bhuna which she really enjoyed. The naan breads were also very good, they were large and very fluffy which made them lighter. The side dishes were again very good. The tarka dal was so good and the saag paneer also very good. There is a bring your own policy on alcohol and staff provided glasses and a bottle opener. Overall, the meal was lovely with amazing food and friendly staff. It's a shame it is two hours drive from home as I'd love to have this as a local restaurant!!!

As always great, tasty food, generous portions and pleasant service. Has vegan options too, which is extra bonus. Also, it's BYOB.

Went for a birthday meal with a raucous crowd, we were well looked after and the food was excellent. You take your own alcohol for which glasses are provided.
