Believe me, after reading some of the reviews here, I was very skeptical as to what to expect. I visited the New Castle Office on Tuesday, February 18. I arrived at 8:14 a.m. in need of a copy of my birth certificate. The girl behind the window (#1) was very kind, sweet and attentive. I had taken my book, just in case of a long wait. I gave her my paperwork, sat down, opened my book, someone came in a few minutes after me then sat next to me. We chatted for a short time. At 8:38 a.m. my name was called and my birth certificate was ready! Amazing!!! I feel guilty that I even considered some of these reviews! I'm sure there are days when it is much worse, but, come on, people! Life's too short to be in such a hurry!!! Thank you New Castle Dept of Vital Records! You are appreciated!!!
