We stumbled across this sight, extremely interesting museum. So much information to take in, worth the visit and we’re glad we stopped and called in. The views from the top of the tower are impressive also, can see for a long way.

It may be older compared to the modern Flanders Fields museum at Ypres but it (still) offers a solid experience about WW1 and more specifically the trench war in Flanders! Besides this the tower offers a great rooftop view of the surroundings where you can see the river Yser and the town of Diksmuide where there was hard fighting back then. The tower itself also has added symbolism with its o more wars\ slogan and Flemish sympathies.

It's a very simple experience, and plenty of room and time to experience in October. 22 floors by lift or stairs. Nice town locally. And walking distance to other attractions....

This is a large museum so take your time. The story of world war 2 is told from multiple perspectives. Everything is told from the both sides of the war. There is a lot of information and it is beautifully displayed. I would recommend to visit it!

No more war they said. Wish it were true. None the less a strong idea. Maybe one day...
