Had a spur of the moment Saturday lunch here, and we’re very glad we did! A lovely old pub with great ambiance, very friendly, attentive and knowledgeable staff, delicious meals which were beautifully presented, great portion sizes, and great value. Overall a lovely experience. Highly recommended!

Amazing food, not overly expensive but higher than standard pub food. You can tell the chefs take pride in the food and presentation. Staff were friendly and knew the menu items very well. Restaurant is a cozy inviting place! I would highly recommend this restaurant!

It has taken me a while to write this review and I appreciate that it is during difficult times, but without feedback, where is the chance to improve? We had been looking forward to going to the Hart of Harwell for Sunday lunch for some time. On 06Sep2020, we managed to get a table at 2pm. Rather late, but an effort was made to get us in for a meal as we were keen to take my mum somewhere nice. The food was enjoyable, accommodation for COVID social distancing was good, and the restaurant is a nice environment. Unfortunately, there seemed to be an issue with the staff. Not sure what we did or if we weren't local enough, but we were ignored for the entire period that we were there. At every step we had to ask for service. The lady who showed us in was clearly ignoring us. She did not return to ask if we would like or drink or to take our food order. We had to literally embarrass other staff into taking our order, otherwise I swear we would have sat there until closing time. If somebody could tell us what we did to earn this service, I would certainly make an effort to avoid this in future. Unfortunately, we won't be back for a second visit.

When we arrived returning from dorset stopping for lunch we were to late as it was 5 past 2 but the hostess kept the kitchen open for us and it was greatly appreciated. The food was excellent I had the steak and Guinness pie and it was super. An excellent pub with in these times excellent signage to keep customers safe. A big thank you from all 4 of us
