Park open ... 7 employee cars in the employee lot... doors locked and no admittance... peeked through the front doors at a woman in full national park uniform including the hat ... she waved me away and mouthed... we are closed. Seriously ... our taxes are going to paying people who do nothing... I did not see a reason whatsoever that this should be locked up... government !

Well worth the time to go see it and learn. Great parking even for RVs. Visitors center was closed due to Covid . Great walking pathways 3/4 mile with benches along the way. Take your time and pretend you lived back then with the Carved family. Enjoy History.

The grounds are very peaceful for a stoll to his house and parents graveyard. Some stunning wooded scenery, and a very informative visitors center. Perfect stop for history buffs.

Very tranquil walking path beside the spring, meander thru the woods to the home and a peaceful walk to the humble Cemetery. This will make you want to go to the library for a book to renew your knowledge on what you remember from your grade school days.
