Amazing historical square with sculptures, fountain, surrounded by cafes, bars, restaurants and shops. Also history museum building is a must to see, i am not sure but this building is a little folded to left, but i think its quite good condition. Nowadays in covid times this square almost empty as you can see in video. Sometimes there is some activities; local bazaar selling cheap food, quality cheese, fruits, vegetables. Sometimes i see \De Turk\ historical music machine. A mechanical programmable analog lovely music machine, that works with the cards with holes. One time i saw they have some cards of popular Turkish popstar Tarkans song \şımarık\, they played it for me! And sometimes there you can see live music groups, violins, harps, saxaphones... Lovely! If you think shopping, there is brand shops but dont forget to check the narrow street shops, you can find cheaper and some authentic gifts. Also its possible to buy local foods, of course cheese but here honeys are also wonderful, and dont forget to taste Deventer traditional historical cake! Its delicious! Contains cinnamon. If you need some goods for travel needs Wibra will be the economic choice next to ING bank at the end of square. But if you need more you can walk to Action, that has almost the lowest prices and you can find almost everything you need.
