I get mixed experiences, from really knowledgeable and courteous staff that you want to adopt into your family, to the most rude people who treat you like you're a waste of their time. Usually, it's people who answer the phones that are rude, but, you definitely get a ray of sunshine, here and there! I love those calls! I try to be kind to everyone and, since kindness is contagious, I make it a point to see how many people I can \infect\ with it! Most of the doctors are great! A couple are rude. As far as competence goes, again, they're not mind-readers so they can be wrong, but, most try to do a good job and meet the needs of the veterans. I'm pleased with 75-85% of my experiences there. It's definitely improved within the last 2 years.

If I could give zero stars I woulda the front desk guy wanted to be rude and belittle my elderly mother who was trying to get information to him. But he knew it all with out her even being able to speak he was so annoyed with coming to work today or something cause while trying to explain something simple to my mother he wanted to throw his pen and then have a tantrum when I asked his name. He got up like a bully to get his commander.. your wrong for acting like you just did. Your rude and have no empathy maybe should rethink your job!!! Also screamed down the hallways here’s my commander I told him to have. A good day I don’t deal with rude people. Especially one who isn’t nice to veterans or their families!!!!
The VA Medical Center is where I get all of me medical needs met. I highly recommend the John D. Dingell VA Medical Center in Detroit to all Veterans.
I have had good experiences during my visits, the staff and doctors have taken good care of my needs, wait times could be better but overall no complaints.
